A mission worth supporting
The SC School for the Deaf and the Blind seeks to arm students across the state with the tools needed to become world-class citizens, while supporting the whole child through enriching experiences. All of this leads to significantly higher graduation rates for students who are deaf, blind or sensory multi-disabled.
As a public agency, SCSDB receives state and federal funding. Just as with any other public school system, however, supplemental funding is always needed to maximize educational resources and opportunities for students. The foundation raises funds to support more than just the extras for the school; our support means having greater access to the vital instructional resources, adaptive technologies and growth experiences that otherwise would not be possible.
As the school offers advanced learning environments, the foundation’s fundraising efforts are focused on three strategic areas to help students thrive.
Instructional Resources – Appropriate and dynamic instructional tools that support early intervention and continuous improvement for students
Adaptive Technology – Advanced resources and alternative devices both in and out of the classroom
Growth Experiences – Dynamic extracurricular programming and student life experiences
