How can I support The SCSDB Foundation?
There are a number of ways you can support the work of The South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind Foundation. You may donate online or send your contribution directly to the foundation. Giving opportunities are listed on our website.
Can I receive tax benefits or deductions by donating to The SCSDB Foundation?
Yes, you may receive tax deductions and/or benefits allowable by law through our giving programs. Our giving opportunities can be found under the Make a Difference tab at the top of our website.
What is the Wish List?
The Wish List is a rolling list of the needs and wants at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind. Examples of items on the Wish List: board games, ceiling fans, balance aids for physical therapy, Health Center renovation, mentors, music therapist, Walker Hall driveway, gym exercise equipment, etc.
How many children attend the SCSDB, and what are their ages?
Currently more than 250 children from all over the State of South Carolina are enrolled at the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind residential school located in Spartanburg, SC. Additionally, approximately 1,400 children are served by SCSDB’s teachers within their own school districts.
